Algebra 2B

I'm still taking two of my old classes, one of which is algebra. I'm taking algebra because I like the way my teacher teaches math. Like he would show multiple ways to solve a problem and would accept any way we feel comfortable with solving them. We're learning on how to inverse a equation. It's pretty easy.

Final Reflection for World Literature 2020-2021

    This semester was unlike any other semester since we had to switch to online classes and not seeing each other in person for months. I think what made this course different than any other course i've taken was that we all had to create our own blogs in order to turn in assignments you gave to us. At first I thought it was really embarrassing because usually we just write our assignments and essays then turn it in to the teacher. But no, we have to post it on our blogs for everyone to see and critique. But it was also good because we could take those comments to better our writing.

    Something meaningful to me was that even if we're learning online, you still helped us like asking if we had any questions or we could ask what a certain word meant because some teachers they get mad and just tell us, "you should know this already". Also I appreciate that you let us message you in chat instead of talking because I know some people are shy to talk. Then most teachers turn off the chat or get mad when you message them in chat and most students just end up not asking their questions which makes it really difficult for them to do their work.

    I glad that I was able to bring up some of my grades in other classes. At the beginning it was kinda difficult because I was trying to get use to the change and managing with the online classes and whatever was happening in my home in August. Of course my grades for most of my classes weren't that great at the beginning. I think I was able to manage at the end and bring most of my grades up.

    I wish I could have turned in my work on time instead of doing it at the last minute. Its really hard doing all of your missing assignment at 3 am. I also wish I could had used social media less often or just manage the amount of time I use it. The last thing I wished I could have done differently was to check the course blog more often. I used to find out what assignments we had to do the day we had class.

    One thing i learned in this course that will help me in the future is we should judge people based on their pass. Like in Les Miserables, the Bishop didn't run Jean Valjean away like everyone else simply because he went to prison.

    The book i'm currently reading "I want to eat your pancreas" used paradox right at the beginning when the protagonist finds a journal call "living with dying" from another character. The book also uses a lot of imagery throughout the book as the protagonist describes the places he and the other character went, to the food they ate. The book also uses mood because in the 3rd chapter, the protagonist and the other character often talked about how they would spend their last moments of life if they knew they were going to die soon.

    I think this semester was pretty hard, for me, but i'm glad that we're done and that maybe I will be able to manage my classes better next semester.

Literature Analysis (Fiction)

 1. The book I decided to do for this assignment is called "I want to eat your Pancreas" by Yoru Sumino. The plot of this book is about two highschool students, one who isn't named throughout the book but is the protagonist and we read this book through his point of view. The other student, Sakura Yamauchi, is classmates with the protagonist and later on they become really good friends. In the beginning of the story, the protagonist comes across a journal while he was waiting in a hospital waiting room. Once he read parts of the journal he discovers that it was a diary that was kept by one of his classmates, Sakura. Sakura reveals to him that she has a pancreatic illness that is fatal. So she has been writing in that diary to just express her thoughts since nobody knows she will pass away soon, besides her parents and the protagonist. The protagonist and Sakura eventually become really good friends and go to places she always wanted to go before she dies. Spoiler!!!!: One night when the protagonist was watching the news, he finds out that Sakura was stabbed on her way home and she died. He breaks down and doesnt attend her funeral but at the end we became more open to people he meets and that it was all thanks to Sakura for changing him.

2. I think the theme on this book is that no matter the situation you're in, you should live the moment because you never know when it will be gone.

3. Based on Yoru Sumino tone throughout the book, I think their morning routine consists of getting up early up in the morning and starting off their day with a cup of tea. Maybe coffee sometimes and drink their tea or coffee with a healthy well rounded breakfast. They probably meditate too. I think Yoru Sumino is organized and really neat.

4. Right at the beginning of the book, they used paradox when the protagonist was reading out the title of the diary he found in the hospital. -"living with dying". Throughout the book, they also used a lot of imagery whenever the protagonist and Sakura went to the places she wanted to go before she died. Lastly, the author used mood from whenever the protagonist and Sakura were talking about her passing away soon.

Essay

     Arguing and giving up any right to our own opinion can impact may ordeals and can improve many things because we are giving up our own opinion for the good of the people and to secure the future for the next generation. Then arguing can be crucial for anyone because your standing up for what you think is right and some ideologies can be horrible. But that can also be saving people's lives and improve the country because you're trying to better the circumstances. Some examples can be the black lives matter movement, how people don't believe that the virus is real, or about same-sex marriage.

    When it comes to the black lives matters movement, i've seen so many people online and in public just immediately assume that the movement means only black lives matters. That's when people make their opinion and argue that they are entitled to their own opinion and that all lives matter. Black lives matter isn't saying that all lives don't matter, they want equality for all lives, but right now African Americans aren't being treated equally. So that's why we are focusing on them right now until they get the equality they deserve as well. All lives don't matter until black lives matter. So in future generations, everyone can be treated equally.

    Wearing a mask, washing our hands, and social distancing is very important right now because of the global pandemic we are in. The amount of people i've seen that say that the virus isn't real and they just continue to go out without the right protection like wearing a mask is terrible. Like my mother would say to me, some people don't believe in things until it has happened to them. Their opinions are putting others and themselves at risk to get the virus. Therefore the pandemic may last longer and cases would rise. At this point they shouldn't be entitled to their own opinion if it means that it would get others hurt.

    Today, many people express themselves and are proud about their identities and sexual orientation. I don't understand why some people think same-sex marriage should be illegal in the U.S. There is really nothing wrong with a loving couple just wanting to get married. People shouldn't say they are entitled to their opinion and that nobody should marry someone of their same gender. Imagine if one of their children wanted to get married with someone of the same gender. What would they choose, their child's happiness or would they stick entitled to their opinion?

    In conclusion, by these examples, giving up a right to our opinion can improve bad situations. Even if you haven't endured through some of these things, it doesn't mean that others have and are suffering right now. Like in the first paragraph of the essay, you can be giving up your opinion for the good of the people and for future generations.

I Have The Answers

 I know exactly what to tell my support team about my learning.The hardest part about starting school is that I have a lot of responsibility at home now, and trying to manage that with all the school work I get each is stressful. What I have enjoyed the most about starting school is that we don't have that many meetings each week. One of my goals in this course this year is to get better at writing. One habit I want to start is managing my time better, and I want to stop procrastinating a lot. I at least want to get a B this year, since english isn't y greatest subject.
