TODAY A STUDENT BECAME A MASTER

Gitzel key interests is the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pediatric medical, becoming a published author, or magazine writer/editor. One of her top resources is www.fbijobs.gov because they learned the requirements needed to join the FBI. One of their weakest resources is Wikipedia. She was able to find her resources by searching up her key interests and picked the out the website that caught her eye.

FINAL MASTERPIECE RESEARCH PHASE ONE

1. https://www.nia.nih.gov/health/taking-care-your-teeth-and-mouth

This website offers to show how to take care of your teeth and how to identify tooth decay or gum disease. Like tooth decay is basically cavities, when your tooth breaks down due to bacteria made of acids. Gum disease is when your gums start to inflame due to bacteria. Both can be prevented by just brushing and flossing your teeth.

2. https://www.drericyao.com/History-of-Dentistry

Eric S. Yao explains the history of dental health. In 7000 bce, they used to use bow drills, which were used for woodworking tools, to fix cavities. Then later on in the middle ages in Europe, if you had a toothache, they would pull that tooth out. The first toothbrush invented was in 3000 bce, which was made out of twigs, and dental floss wasn't made until 1815.

3. https://www.strubleortho.com/blog/2017/07/unique-facts-about-the-history-of-dental-health

Strubleortho gives really interesting facts about the history of dentistry. Like most Americans didn't brush their teeth every day only after WW2. The cotton candy machine used to be called "fairy floss" and was co-invented by a dentist. In 400ad, the formula for toothpaste was mint, salt, grains of pepper, and dried iris flower. There's 9 other facts on the website that are also interesting.

4. https://omahadentists.net/blog/interesting-teeth-and-dentistry-facts/

Omaha dentists also gives some facts about dental health. Like the hardest substance in the human body is your tooth enamel. Also, your tooth prints are like fingerprints because they're all different to each person. Someone in West Virginia used dental floss to escape prison in 1992, shows how durable dental floss can be.

CURIOSITY BRINGS THIS CAT TO LIFE

https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/articles/teaching-content/creating-curious-thinkers/

We were all given 3 articles and asked by Dr. Preston, "Why is curiosity important?". Our group chose this article because scholastic is pretty familiar to all of us and it's a source we can rely on.

Curiosity is an asset because curiosity urges people to find new information that can lead to much potential. Another reason is that curiosity can support students to keep more in focus and interested on subjects. It may also help students to find creative solutions to a problem.

INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE

Who is your role mentor and how do they influence your work?

    1) Gitzel's role mentors are Mulan and Matthew Gray Gubler. They are her role mentors because they keep her motived. Especially Mulan because she went to fight out in the war with no doubt and she was motived by her family.

How do you guard your safety and security online?

    2) She keeps herself safe online by changing her password, so nobody can try to break into her accounts.

   What did you learn yesterday?

    3) One thing she learned about yesterday is that most 1st graders today are learning subjects that we would learn in 3rd grade.

MASTER PLAN

Doc McStuffins is one of my role mentors. When Dr. Preston ask if we had any role mentors, I couldn't think of any who were related to my key interests. Until I remembered of the tv show I used to watch in 1st grade. Doc McStuffins really inspired me to help others and I probably wouldn't have any other role mentor without her.

I think Doc McStuffins, or Dottie, skills came from her mother. Her mother is actually a doctor and i definitely believe Dottie learns a lot from what her mom teaches her. After rewatching a few episodes of the shows, it could probably be that Dottie has some natural talent, maybe. She's really good at figuring out what is wrong with her "patients" and fix them all in one check up. I'm also sure that as she checks her patients, she learns more about her toys and how to improve.

I don't think it took Doc McStuffins that long to demonstrate her proficiency. She was 6 when she took care for her toys and like I said in the paragraph before, she's learns how to improve as she checks her patients every time.

Dottie probably developed her knowledge with science. During her check ups, she checks her toys as a human. I believe the reason for this is that she probably learned from her mother.

Dottie really looks up to her mother and hopes to be a doctor like her when she grows up. I also noticed that she had other mentors, besides her mother. Such as her father, who helps her at times when she doesn't know whats wrong with her patients or something like that. Maybe if I try to find more mentors other than Doc McStuffins, I could expand my knowledge more and learn things that they don't teach in Doc McStuffins.

I would probably be able to demonstrate about more mentors. I think if you have more mentors, you would be able to learn about all sorts of different things and just have a bigger understanding about whatever you a interested in.

I HAVE A DREAM

Last week, I didn't really spend a lot of time learning more about my key interests. I was pretty curious about how was it like working in the medical field, more specifically about pediatricians and dentists since  those are my key interests. I saw the video of a junior pediatrician who was just starting off in a children's hospital and how hectic it is to work with children. It made me realize that working in a medical field isn't just going to be a smooth road every day where you just check patients and they're alright. Its got me a little scared on what I have to face and if i can handle that responsibility, but i'll try my absolute hardest. I think this week I really want to learn about human anatomy. I will try to put at least 1 hour on that.

MY DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

Self evident means obvious, when they wrote, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal", they ment that its obvious that all men are to be equal. Also that certain rights can't be taken away. The government has to keep the people's rights safe. If the government doesn't protect the people's rights, the people can alter or abolish it. If the government does something wrong or abuses their power, the people will stick with it and suffer, than change and over throw the government. If the government continues to abuse their power and with no reason, then its the peoples duty to throw off that government.

I have a dream

During the past week, I began taking a anatomy and physiology course. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect. I thought the course ...
